Constable Tormarin

Constable Tormarin was the rigid sort.  Rural life and a disfiguring birthmark upon her face drove her to develop a stunning physique and penchant for swordplay.  A strength of character evolved from staring folks in the eye, daring them to comment on her appearance.  Folded into this iron will was a sense of integrity that was outshone by few.  When her charismatic power blossomed and men were drawn to her, she found none that were worthy of her attention.

She remembered those that had shunned her in her youth, that could not see the heart of her beyond the mark.  So few faces she encountered would not flinch at their initial meeting.  Those first impressions became a source of humor for her, the nuances of reaction and attempted masking of the truth which shone in the onlooker’s eyes.  She enjoyed meeting new faces so much, she took to the open road.

She found comfort in the law.  She was built for it, inside and out, and so married herself to it.  Working her way up through the civil ranks, she became Constable of the Tack Barren District while still in her third decade.  Traveling the circuit to mete out justice brought her the inward peace she sought while her eyes continued their search for the champion that would prove her equal.

Her presence became the seed of stories, first woven by children but then amplified by adults who experienced the purity of her purpose and the nobility with which she served.  Her word became law.  There were none of the District that would doubt her judgment, and those outsiders that thought to do so were brought in line after only a single meeting.

The countenance of Constable Tormarin was unique, and her gaze could peer into the very soul.
