Into the Wind

The terrain surrounding our home is flat.  Liquid flat.  One might even say superflat.  Such an environment is ideal for biking.  No hills is a wonderful thing, and we bike wherever and whenever we can.

However.

We are also in an area with fickle weather patterns and a great deal of wind.  That combination creates the stunning propensity for the sensation of always riding into a headwind…

Always. And all ways.

While not an overly displeasing element at its core, such buffeting serves as a poignant reflection upon the torrential flow of responsibility, of adulthood. The ceaseless array of to-dos and projects and tasks which comprise day to day life.

How does one manage this untimely river of occasion? Perception, priority and perseverance. Life is what it is, and we will all have our hills and valleys in due course.

What makes us unique, is how we handle these events, how we react to the adversity, how we let the river shape us. How has it shaped you? Are you pleased with what you see upon reflection?

If not, then step up and make change. No one can change the flow of the river, or the blow of the wind, but you can always choose to carry on, on your terms and toward your goals.

One foot in front of the other, one pedal turn more, and you will eventually reach your destination.
