Zohar the Monkey Mage

Being born without hands was not as limiting an element as those around Zohar Pahlm believed.  True his birth into a well respected and wealthy family contributed to his success.  Had the spirited boy been born into common lineage, his life would have been equally colorful, though painted with ample shades of brown, black and grey.  As it was, he took to learning with fanatical fervor, aimed at consuming any intangible knowledge which would cross his path.

Apprenticing with his enchanter father, Zohar developed dexterous facility with his feet and toes, and the surprising alacrity with which he adapted magical detail to his own methods proved uniquely inspiring.  Enchanter Pahlm maintained a winged monkey familiar named Zanzibar who formed a lasting bond with young Zohar.  The simian friendship with the handless boy who ate with his feet was the fertile ground of bullies and layabouts that eventually earned Zohar his arcane title.

Zohar funneled a considerable amount of energy into creating hands which could further facilitate his arcane progression.  Developments included summoning a pair of spectral hands that were reduced in potency but increased in duration, with the possibility of permanence still elusive.  He also dabbled with crafting and animating artificial gauntlets which could serve, but material construction and fine detail manipulation still provided adequate stumbling blocks for the aspiring mage.

Presently, Zohar was researching the physical and spiritual ramifications of obtaining the divine intervention of a regenerative spell.  What was the body’s true form, and did it stem from a biological or spiritual reckoning?  The fastidious spell caster left very little to chance, but the allure of seeing what regeneration would do to him often kept him up at night.
